2. Finding the Perfect Placement: Abstract acrylic paintings can serve as striking focal points in any room, so take the time to find the ideal placement for each piece. Consider the size and scale of the artwork in relation to the wall space available, aiming to create a balanced arrangement that enhances the room’s ambiance. Whether it’s above the sofa, in the dining area, or as a statement piece in the hallway, every piece has a home they are meant for!
3. Pairing with Complementary Décor: To maximize the impact of abstract acrylic paintings, pair them with complementary décor elements that enhance their visual appeal. Choose furnishings and accessories that echo the colors and themes present in the artwork, creating a cohesive and harmonious design scheme. Whether it’s vibrant throw pillows, sleek modern furniture, or metallic accents, let the painting inspire your décor choices while maintaining a sense of balance and harmony.
4. Creating Visual Contrast: Abstract acrylic paintings have the power to inject energy and personality into any space, particularly when juxtaposed against more subdued or minimalist surroundings. Experiment with contrasting textures, patterns, and materials to create visual interest and depth within your home. For example, pair a colorful painting with neutral walls and sleek furniture to make the artwork pop, or mix and match different styles to create a dynamic and eclectic look. Its OK to mix and match as well, don't feel that because you have a traditional couch you have to match it with traditional art; have fun and mix it up!
5. Experimenting with Scale and Proportion: Don’t be afraid to think outside the box when it comes to the scale and proportion of abstract acrylic paintings in your home. Consider oversized canvases for dramatic impact or create a gallery wall with a collection of smaller pieces for added visual intrigue. Play with different arrangements and configurations to find the perfect balance between scale, proportion, and aesthetic appeal. Often times bigger is better!
6. Layering with Other Art Forms: Abstract acrylic paintings can also be seamlessly integrated with other art forms to create a multi-dimensional and visually stimulating environment. Experiment with layering paintings with photography, sculpture, or mixed media artwork to add depth and complexity to your home décor. Mix and match different styles and mediums to create a curated and eclectic gallery wall that reflects your unique personality and taste.
7. Adding Personal Touches: Finally, don’t forget to infuse your own personality and style into the mix when decorating your home with abstract acrylic paintings. Whether it’s showcasing pieces from your own art collection, incorporating cherished family heirlooms, or displaying meaningful mementos, let your home décor tell the story of who you are and what you love. After all, the true beauty of abstract art lies in its ability to evoke emotion and inspire imagination, making it the perfect addition to any home.
In conclusion, decorating your home with abstract acrylic paintings offers a unique opportunity to infuse your space with color, creativity, and personality. By carefully selecting, placing, and pairing artwork with complementary décor elements, you can create a visually stunning and emotionally resonant environment that reflects your individual style and taste. Whether you’re drawn to bold and vibrant colors or subtle and serene compositions, abstract acrylic paintings have the power to elevate your space and transform your home into a dynamic expression of modern art. Have fun, designing with art that you love is the fun part!
**2. Plan Your Layout:**
Before hammering any nails, take the time to plan your art arrangement. Consider the size and shape of your walls, the scale of your artwork, and the overall vibe you want to achieve. Create a mock-up of your desired layout using painter's tape or cardboard cutouts to experiment with different configurations and spacing.
**3. Find the Perfect Placement:**
When hanging art, placement is key. Aim to position your artwork at eye level for optimal viewing enjoyment. For larger pieces, consider creating a focal point by placing them above furniture or in prominent areas of the room. Don't be afraid to play with asymmetry and negative space to create visual interest and balance.
**4. Invest in Quality Hardware:**
To ensure that your artwork stays securely in place, invest in quality hanging hardware. Opt for D-ring hangers, wall anchors, or picture hooks designed to support the weight of your artwork. Avoid using flimsy nails or adhesive strips, especially for larger or heavier pieces, to prevent accidents or damage to your walls. I find all the proper tools on Amazon and Home Depot/Lowes.
**5. Mix and Match:**
Embrace creativity and experimentation by mixing and matching different types of artwork and styles. Pair colorful abstract prints with more traditional wall decor to create a dynamic and eclectic look. Additional Tips:
For instance, maximalism. This 20th century movement emerged as a vivid rebellion against the minimalistic norm. Though minimalist design can add a lot to a space, many designers don't see this option as the end-all be-all of modern design. Because maximalist design can be a celebration of life, ideas come to designers all the time for how to maximize the life of a space.
This movement goes beyond the fine art that you may see in the art world of New York City. All across the United States and worldwide, friends and family share stories amid high quality maximalist visual art in a living space. The good news is that you too can enjoy this great movement.
This dynamic design movement throws caution to the wind. The result is a celebration of the power of bold colors, eclectic patterns, and curated chaos.
At its core, maximalism is more than just a stylistic choice. It can be a fervent celebration of artistry that transforms living spaces into dynamic, visually stimulating environments, where every corner tells a story and each piece reflects a distinct perspective.
For maximalists, art is not relegated to the status of a mere decorative element. Instead, art can become the heart and soul of the home. It serves as a conversation starter, an eye-catcher, and a profound expression of individuality.
You can forget about blank walls and sparse décor. In the maximalist world, spaces are transformed into personal art galleries, where the essence of every piece contributes to the rich tapestry of a room.
The days of matching prints and predictable palettes are long gone once you step into the realm of maximalism.
Maximalist art collections are a celebration of diversity, a vibrant tapestry woven from the threads of contrasting styles and eras.
Picture vintage posters coexisting harmoniously with contemporary abstracts, surrealist landscapes sharing wall space with graphic prints, and delicate watercolors dancing alongside bold street art.
The key to this artful curation lies in finding the common thread. This could be made of a shared color palette, a thematic connection, or simply the sheer joy of defying convention.
Gallery walls serve as the playground for maximalists, providing an opportunity to orchestrate a visual symphony that captivates the beholder.
Mixing and matching sizes, textures, and frames isn't just encouraged—it's essential. Let a vintage tapestry anchor a wall adorned with modern prints. Or, juxtapose a photorealistic portrait with a whimsical watercolor.
Play with negative space, allowing smaller pieces to orbit around larger ones, creating a dynamic effect that speaks to the viewer.
In the midst of controlled chaos, balance remains key. Repetition of certain colors or themes brings unity, while the occasional outlier piece keeps the eye engaged and the narrative alive.
In maximalism, intentionality surpasses mere quantity.
Each piece of art holds profound meaning, sparking conversations and transforming a room into an immersive experience.
Large statement pieces take center stage, drawing attention to the heart of the living room or setting the tone in the entryway. The captivating whispers of art should be impossible to ignore, turning walls into canvases that come alive with vibrant narratives.
Maximalism extends beyond the walls to encompass statement furniture and lighting, playing a crucial role in weaving the art-centric narrative.
Imagine a vintage velvet armchair in a jewel tone, becoming a sculptural centerpiece, or a floor lamp with a cascading crystal chandelier adding drama and sparkle to the visual spectacle.
The mix of textures and materials further enhances the artistic tapestry, allowing rough wood to coexist seamlessly with sleek metal and plush fabrics. Every element contributes to the narrative, adding depth and dimension to the overall maximalist experience.
At its essence, maximalism is a vibrant celebration of life, encouraging individuals to express their uniqueness through bold and colorful brushstrokes.
It's about creating a space that not only reflects passions and stories but also showcases a unique perspective on the world.
Maximalism liberates from the constraints of rules, offering endless possibilities for creativity and self-expression. In this world, walls become canvases, furniture transforms into sculptures, and homes evolve into living, breathing works of art.
Start small: The journey into maximalism doesn't have to be overwhelming. Begin by incorporating a few carefully chosen statement pieces into an existing space, allowing the transformation to unfold gradually.
Shop vintage and thrift stores: Unearth hidden treasures and eclectic finds that add character and personality to your growing collection. Embrace the stories behind each piece as you curate your maximalist haven.
Don't be afraid to experiment: Maximalism thrives on the unexpected. Try daring pairings, play with color combinations and textures, and let your intuition guide you through the creative process.
Most importantly, have fun! Maximalism is a celebration of your unique style, inviting you to let your personality shine through every artistic choice.
With courage and creativity, you can transform your home into a maximalist haven where art reigns supreme, and every corner becomes a canvas telling a compelling and vibrant story.
So, embrace the bold, let your walls come alive, and revel in the limitless world of maximalism!

Understanding Different Art Genres
To truly kickstart your art collection, it's essential to develop an understanding of the different art genres. These genres serve as the foundation for the myriad of artistic expressions you'll encounter along your journey. By delving into the distinct characteristics and influences of each genre, you'll gain a deeper appreciation for the artworks you collect and be better equipped to curate a cohesive and meaningful collection. One of the most recognizable and celebrated art genres is realism, which seeks to depict the world as accurately and faithfully as possible. With its meticulous attention to detail and precise rendering of subjects, realism allows collectors to appreciate the technical prowess of artists and immerse themselves in lifelike scenes. From the iconic works of Caravaggio to the contemporary masterpieces of Chuck Close, realism offers a rich tapestry of subjects and styles to explore.
If you're drawn to art that challenges conventions and pushes boundaries, you might find yourself gravitating towards the avant-garde genre. Avant-garde art encompasses innovative and experimental approaches that often defy traditional artistic norms. Artists like Marcel Duchamp and Yoko Ono have left indelible marks on the art world by questioning the very definition of art and pushing the boundaries of artistic expression.
For those seeking an emotional and thought-provoking experience, the genre of abstract art holds a special allure. Abstract art, my personal favorite, represents imagery in favor of conveying emotions, ideas, or concepts through shapes, colors, and forms. The works of Wassily Kandinsky and Piet Mondrian exemplify the power of abstract art to evoke feelings and prompt introspection, encouraging viewers to interpret and engage with the artwork on a personal level.
In contrast, if you're captivated by the interplay of light and color, exploring the genre of impressionism is a must. Originating in the 19th century, impressionism captures the fleeting essence of a subject through loose brushstrokes and vibrant palettes. Artists like Claude Monet and Edgar Degas masterfully conveyed the fleeting effects of light, inviting viewers to experience the transient beauty of nature and everyday life. By acquainting yourself with these and other art genres, you'll not only expand your knowledge but also discover the genres that resonate most deeply with your personal taste. They can provide valuable insights into the artists' backgrounds, artistic processes, and the broader art market landscape. As you explore different galleries, keep an open mind and allow yourself to be drawn to unexpected pieces. Sometimes, the most profound connections are forged with artworks that challenge our preconceptions or introduce us to new artistic styles. Up next: Create a color scheme that enhances your space. Rather than simply slapping up whatever pieces you have on hand, taking the time to thoughtfully select a color scheme will make a huge impact.,
Create a Color Scheme That Enhances Your Space
To take your gallery wall to the next level, consider creating a color scheme that enhances your space. By thoughtfully selecting colors that complement your room's existing decor, you'll create a cohesive and polished look. Once you have a general sense of your desired vibe, you can start selecting colors that fit the bill. Look to your existing furniture, rugs, and accents for inspiration. Pull colors from these pieces and use them as a jumping off point for selecting art that fits within that color palette. This doesn't mean every piece needs to match perfectly, but aim to create a sense of harmony overall. When in doubt, opt for a neutral palette with pops of color to keep things cohesive without feeling too overwhelming. And don't be afraid to mix in metallics like gold or silver for an added touch of glamour. Once you've selected your color scheme, it's time to start mixing and matching different art sizes and shapes to create a visually interesting display.,
Mix Art Sizes and Shapes for Visual Interest
One of the keys to creating an engaging gallery art wall is to mix art sizes and shapes. By doing so, you can add depth and visual interest to your display. Consider combining small and large pieces, and varying the heights and widths of each artwork. This will give your display a sense of movement and keep the eye moving from one piece to the next. Try experimenting with different shapes as well. Incorporate circular, triangular, or irregularly shaped pieces into your display. This will add another layer of intrigue and keep the eye engaged. When mixing sizes and shapes, it's important to maintain a sense of balance. Don't overcrowd one area with too many pieces or leave large gaps between others. A balanced display will ensure that each piece gets the attention it deserves. Mixing art sizes and shapes is just one way to create a personalized gallery wall. Pairing an old painting with a modern photograph or sculpture can create a fascinating contrast that will enhance the overall aesthetic. Another technique is to mix different genres of art. For example, you can combine abstract art with figurative pieces to create a dynamic and visually stimulating display. When mixing different styles and genres, it's essential to ensure coherence in your display. You can create coherence by playing with color schemes, frame styles, or even the subject matter. Adding a common theme or color palette can help create a cohesive look in your gallery wall. Fortunately, there are plenty of tips and tricks from the pros to help you take your drone photography to the next level. From mastering the basics of flying to finding the perfect perspective, this guide will provide you with the essential knowledge and skills you need to become a drone photography master. So, whether you're a seasoned photographer or just starting out, get ready to soar and capture stunning shots that will leave your audience breathless.
Advantages of drone photography
One of the biggest advantages of drone photography is the ability to capture unique angles and perspectives. With a drone, you can fly over landscapes, buildings, and water bodies to capture stunning shots that would be impossible to achieve from the ground. Drones can also capture shots from various heights and angles, providing photographers with more creative freedom. Additionally, drones are relatively small and portable, making them ideal for traveling photographers who want to capture unique shots on the go. Drone photography equipment Before you start drone photography, you'll need to invest in some equipment. Here are some essential items:
1. Drone
The first item on your list should be a drone. There are several types of drones available, and each has its own pros and cons. When choosing a drone, consider factors such as flight time, camera quality, and stability. You'll also need to decide whether you want a drone that comes with a built-in camera or one that allows you to attach your own camera.
2. Camera
If you're using a drone that doesn't come with a built-in camera, you'll need to invest in a camera. Look for a camera with high resolution and image stabilization to ensure your shots are sharp and clear.
3. Controller
You'll also need a controller to operate your drone. Most drones come with their own controllers, but you can also purchase third-party controllers for added functionality.
4. Batteries
Finally, you'll need extra batteries to keep your drone powered. Drones typically have a flight time of 20-30 minutes, so having extra batteries on hand will ensure you can capture all the shots you need.
Choosing the right drone for photography
Choosing the right drone for photography is crucial to achieving great shots. Here are some factors to consider:
1. Camera quality
The quality of the camera on the drone is one of the most important factors to consider. Look for a drone with a camera that has a high resolution and is stabilized to ensure your shots are sharp and clear.
2. Flight time
The flight time of a drone is the amount of time it can fly before the batteries run out. Look for a drone with a flight time of at least 20 minutes to ensure you have enough time to capture all the shots you need.
3. Stability
Stability is important when it comes to drone photography. Look for a drone with a stable flight system to ensure your shots are smooth and free of shake. ###
4. Size and portability
Finally, consider the size and portability of the drone. If you plan to travel with your drone, look for a compact and easy-to-carry drone.
Camera settings for drone photography
Once you have your drone and camera, you'll need to adjust your camera settings to ensure you capture the best shots possible. Here are some camera settings to consider:
1. ISO
ISO refers to the camera's sensitivity to light. In general, it's best to keep the ISO as low as possible to reduce noise in your shots. Noise is when the image looks grainy.
2. Shutter speed
Shutter speed refers to the amount of time the camera's shutter is open. A faster shutter speed will freeze motion, while a slower shutter speed will create motion blur. Experiment with different shutter speeds to achieve the desired effect.
3. Aperture
Aperture refers to the size of the opening in the lens. A smaller aperture will create a larger depth of field, while a larger aperture will create a shallower depth of field. Experiment with different aperture settings to achieve the desired effect.
Legal considerations for drone photography-This is a big one
Before you start flying your drone for photography, there are several legal considerations you need to be aware of. Here are some important points to keep in mind:
1. FAA regulations

If you're flying a drone for commercial purposes, you'll need to obtain a Part 107 certification. Additionally, all drone flights must adhere to FAA regulations, including flying below 400 feet and avoiding restricted airspace.
2. Privacy laws
When flying a drone, it's important to be aware of privacy laws. In general, you should avoid flying your drone over private property without permission. Additionally, it's important to respect people's privacy and not capture images or videos of them without their consent.
3. Insurance
Finally, consider purchasing liability insurance for your drone. This can protect you in case your drone causes damage or injury to someone or their property.
Drone photography composition tips
Composition is crucial to achieving great drone photography shots. Here are some tips to help you compose your shots:
1. Rule of thirds The rule of thirds is a common photography technique that involves dividing your shot into thirds both horizontally and vertically. The points where the lines intersect are where you should place your subject for a visually pleasing shot.
2. Leading lines Leading lines are lines that lead the viewer's eye through the shot. Look for natural lines such as roads, rivers, or fences to use as leading lines in your shots.
3. Symmetry Symmetry is another common technique that can create visually pleasing shots. Look for symmetrical subjects such as buildings or landscapes and center them in your shot for a balanced composition.
Lighting and weather conditions for drone photography
Lighting and weather conditions are important factors to consider when it comes to drone photography. Here are some tips to help you capture great shots:
1. Golden hour
The golden hour refers to the hour after sunrise and the hour before sunset. During this time, the light is soft and golden, creating a warm and flattering effect on your shots.
2. Cloudy days
Cloudy days can be great for drone photography as they create diffused light that can enhance the colors in your shots. Additionally, clouds can add depth and drama to your shots.
3. Wind
Wind can be a challenge when it comes to drone photography. Avoid flying your drone in high winds as it can affect stability and make it difficult to capture clear shots.

It's about tapping into your innermost thoughts, feelings, and experiences to create something truly unique and personal. In this post, we'll explore the history and evolution of abstract art and teach you the techniques and skills you need to start creating your own abstract masterpieces.
Whether you're an experienced artist or just starting out, this guide will help you unlock your creative potential and discover the beauty and power of abstract art. So let's get started on this exciting journey into the world of abstract art!
First thing is first, Abstract Art has been around for a long time. The four main styles are:Surrealism, Dadaism, Cubism, and Fauvism. Some famous artists from these eras include: Salvador Dali, Joan Miro (One of my personal favorites), Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee, Frida Kahlo, and Rene Magritte. Trust me, you have seen works from all of these artists. Their work was/is groundbreaking, cutting edge, and emotional.
Abstract Art came about when the Realist art movement started to become less popular. People were yearning for change. Also, it was influenced by a rebellion for the current political situation. Rules and rigidity were so enforced, I believe the artists of that time wanted a cultural shift, and through Art they did exactly that.
To make some of you own abstract art I encourage you to think less and feel more. grab a canvas and some paints or a sketch books and colored pencils. Sit down and take a deep breath. Remind yourself there are no mistakes in creating art, you can't mess up! Now grab a tool and put marks down. Let the weather or your current emotional state influence you, allow yourself to be vulnerable and trust the process. It's a tremendous form of therapy! Allow yourself the space and time to get messy, be wild, and do things outside the box. Most important thing is to have fun!
I encourage you to look up some of these artists and the movements and see what emotions or thoughts are sparked when you view their work. Do you feel something? Think something? Want to go and do something? Abstract Art is an interactive experience, let it move you!

So often people tell me they love art but cant paint, or cant draw. I always respond with the same thing…Yes you can, we are all inherently born with it! The gift of creativity is something we all have; we just have to learn to tap into it. I think as adults we are afraid of failure, messing up, or not being perfect. Those ideologies have to be thrown out the window when you create. We are not robots, we are humans, and imperfections are the clear path to finding our way. Allowing yourself to make a mistake and not be upset is a gift; not comparing yourself to the person next to you is a life lesson, and in the art world it’s especially true. There is not one day I walk into my studio where I look at everything and think, “I’m finished, and everything is perfect!” I don’t think artists ever ‘arrive’. We just keep down our path, and some days the path is beautiful lined with the sweetest flowers and perfect seventy degrees and sunshine and other days it might be a little drizzly, but such is life, and you just keep on moving forward. The motivation for me to keep pushing forward is that there is so much to be discovered, unveiled, and seen. We all have the ability to see something completely unique; sharing that is what art is all about.
How do I get started?

For me abstract painting is quite a personal experience. I paint what Im feeling and going through and what that day holds. A lot of times the music Im listening to inspires a mark or stroke or color and the energy of my studio will eventually fill the canvas. There are sometimes I can feel the energy is not there and I won't even go in my studio. As I've gotten older I've really started to tune in to my body and mind and its amazing how much Im learning about myself! Heavy emotions and feelings might bring heavier and bolder marks and the same goes for when I'm feeling especially light and airy, I might have more pencil and delicate lines.
I love color and I love expression and I'm so grateful I am able to express it in a way that resonates with others. My goal is bring a memory or emotion or smile to the viewer. If that happens, even for a split, second I feel successful.

To me, its the perfect introductory scent to couple with my brand of color, light and wonder. It blends oceanic aromas of sweet and salty with mild undertones of vanilla and amber; it truly is the perfect candle to burn while you plan your next getaway.
The soy is made from US soybean growers and the glass jars are handmade so expect slight discrepancies; which I think adds to the charm. With a burn time of 40-60 hours (if you leave it burning for hours on end it will shorten the lifespan), it is sure to last for quite some time.
I would love to know what you think! Please check them out and leave a review!
]]>A few weeks later I had a drone and a week a few weeks after that I went to Mexico with a friend. I studied and researched and decided to buy the DJI Phantom 4 Pro. The first time I flew was in Todos Santos, Mexico, just north of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. I was pretty nervous about flying so I went to google and found what appeared to be a remote beach and hoped no one was there! We parked and walked out and saw the beach was wide open, and the water was beautiful! One of my favorite images is this one, Todos Santos Rough Water.
Im a certified pilot and let me tell you the studying was no joke. I went to our airport for the exam and a majority of the questions were for aviation pilots. It was challenging, and Im glad I put the time and energy in to learning the FAA rules and regulations. Flying a drone is loads of fun but being safe is the top priority.
]]>Take a look around and enjoy!
Happy to be here!
